About Me

WARNING/ WORD OF ADVICE:
Another Couchsurfer who confirmed his stay and never showed up without letting me know what’s the situation.
London attracts many tourist and I receive many requests. Situations like this become more frequent. Another missed opportunity for someone else who could be surfing my couch.
People copy-paste messages without reading profiles properly. Don’t waste your and my time sending those as they won’t be considered.

ABOUT ME

My name is Robert.
Originally from Poland, i live and work in London. I identify myself as gay/queer.
I'm a passionate cyclist and photographer, and obviously traveler :) gardener by profession.
I do enjoy art, cooking and baking, camping, climbing and caving, street art, film, music, reading. tattoo art and other forms of body art and body modification, etc.
Sometimes adrenaline junkie, sometimes party beast, sometimes bookworm and cinephile.
I prefer to deal with the situations and solve the problems as they come rather than worry or plan much ahead.

For those who do appreciate the meaning of friendship, you are most welcome to take a part in my life.

As a solo traveler, I appreciate a company of other easy-going, open-minded, funny, and mature people to join on my next trip or visit me on their solo travels.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Previously i was a member of Hospitality Club. Original reason i have joined that community was to find a source of information useful during my travels. Now i know its so much more. It’s a great inspiration.

Interests

Open-minded, easy going, sociable individual curious of life in every aspect.
Happy to enlarge a circle of friends all around the world and find travel partners.
i'm a vegetarian with passion for cooking, discovering new tastes and recipes, and eating of course!
I love to cycle! It’s the best way of traveling, makes you independent, keeps you fit, relaxed, allowing you to see things you wouldn't notice from the car.
i love mountains -hiking, climbing, caving gives me sense of freedom.
I’m a music and party lover. Constantly looking for some new artists and records to listen.

Music, Movies, and Books

So many music genres that its hard to list. As a rebellious teenager I was listening to punk, reggae, ska and metal. I would be getting back to these bands every now and then but my music taste evolved and I would now listen to all kinds of electronic music: drum&base, electro, techno, house, hip hop. I appreciate good jazz, especially played life.
I love life music and often go to concerts.

As for the literature, some of my favourite authors would be: Philip K. Dick, George Orwell, Franz Kafka, W. Pielewin, Stanislaw Lem, Ryszard Kapuściński, A. Sapkowski, young generation of Polish authors: D. Masłowska, S. Chutnik, M. Witkowski, I. Karpowicz,
Recently read: Irvine Welsh “The sex lives of Siamese Twins”. Currently reading: Yuval Noah Harari “Sapiens”.

When it comes to movies I like documentaries and so called dramas. Movies that bring something to my life, make me think rather than just kill time. Don’t get me wrong- I love to laugh too, but I haven’t seen a good comedy in years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Better to share stories with mug of tea/glass of wine or by the bonfire than spend time to describe it in here :P

Teach, Learn, Share

As a gardener and house plant collector I can give some tips and advise on plant care.
I’m a handy person, like to fix and re-purpose things.
We can practice some yoga or cook something together, I like learning new recipes and tasting new flavours.
We can throw some crazy photo shoot.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Apart from accommodation, i am happy to share a meal, useful tips, maybe a bicycle if you want to have a ride.
I can provide some towels, sleeping bag or blanket etc.
There is access to the wi-fi as well.
Please read “My home” section for more details.
