Overview
About Me
mother, partner, friend, colleague, optimistic, active, likes to make others smile.
enjoying creativity and spontaneity, learning something new and improving my life by small changes and challenges from time to time.
trying to focus on what really matters. i like to surround myself with good people that make me happy. i believe in empathy, understanding, and the power of discourse. i believe what you do to others will come back to you somehow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i like being surrounded by people and of all my possessions i mostly cherish my friendships. i love the feeling when you meet someone from a completely different part of the world and it feels like you've been old friends all your lives.
as a host it is very important to me to have time to spend with my guests.
i am only accepting couchsurfers when i can be with them at least for a dinner. please consider this when you send me a request! we are getting lots of requests and only accept the ones which reflect this mentality.
also, please let me know why it would be interesting for us to meet you - for instance, what can you teach or do for us that adds to our lives?
when i travel it is always important for me to meet and mingle with locals and understand the way of life at a particular place. i'm not a rushing type of a tourist, i like to take it slow and would rather miss a main touristic sight in order to have time for a drink and a long chat with someone local.

Music, Movies, and Books
Literature: Tom Stoppard, György Dragomán, Jeanette Winterson, Tibor Fischer, Andrei Makine, Thomas Mann, Franz Kafka, Virginia Woolf, Bohumil Hrabal, Salman Rushdie, and I can talk for days about Hungarian literature if you are interested!
Films: Jiří Menzel, Tim Burton and Pedro Almodovar films, Czech, Hungarian and French new-wave, Scandinavian contemporary films (Balthasar Kurmákur!), and spaghetti western of course :)
Music: recent concert experiences that i will never forget: Ibrahim Maalouf, the Tiger Lillies, and a missed concert experience i will never forgive myself for was Leonard Cohen.
i play the oboe and the saxophone (the latter i even have at home) and have a new passion for playing the clarinet.
i like weird/unusual musical instruments, i play the jew's harp and own a didgeridoo, and i'd love to play and own a hang once.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
becoming and being a parent is the most amazing thing I will ever have done in this life :)
