About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Minions! I want minions!

ABOUT ME

A quirky, sarcastic, politically left leaning wanna'-be kiddie head shrinker pining for the Big Apple or Angeltown but stuck in the Insurance Capitol for a few more years sporting a droll sense of humor that might have just a hint of cynicism in there somewhere that some people mistake for snobbishness even though it's not so much snobbery as much as a very opinated take on what's good and desirable and what isn't who is forever in search of a good taco and hot dog, but who would be very scared if he were to find both at the same place.

PHILOSOPHY

No worries. Live by the golden rule. Hold on to the wonder.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer my couch when someone actually wants to come to the Hartford area (it probably happens about as often as you think it does, which ain't much), build new friendships along the way, and hopefully leave some good memories behind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Crashing at generous folks' homes as I do the residency interview trail thang. It's been a great way to the get local's perspective on cities that I haven't lived in. I've hosted a few times as well, and met some great folk that way too!

Interests

listening to music, playing guitar (well, sort of), cooking, eating, savoring Scotch, swilling wine, consuming beer, taking in art, photography (in a past life, but meaning to pick it up again sometime in the future), reading (not as much as I'd like), going to the theatre or theater, travel (when I have the time or money), medicine (probably a good thing for a doc, eh?), science, politics

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything. The more unique or unusual, the better.

Books: Don't read as much as I would like, but at the moment -- A Series of Unfortunate Events, Alice in Wonderland, Waiting for Godot, A Wrinkle in Time, House of Leaves, No One May Ever Have The Same Knowledge Again (Letters to the Mt. Wilson Observatory)

Movies: Anything good. Cinema Paradiso, Monty Python's Life of Brian, City of Lost Children, The Princess Bride, The Neverending Story, Labryinth, Big Fish are faves.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swam under the Sirens' Rocks. Naked. And lived to tell the tale, although I still carry a bit of the rocks in my left foot to this day.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach -- I can spend hours spinning CDs for you. Maybe some cooking lessons? I can blather about medicine too.

Learn -- I love to learn. I'll learn whatever you have to teach.

Share -- food, drink, thoughts, ideas, experiences.

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, France, Italy, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
