About Me
CURRENT MISSION
adventuring solo for the first time in years!
ABOUT ME
I love engaging in any form of creative expression, at current most especially dancing! I love music, good literature and have a passion for food! I love to cook, eat & am a mad keen hiker and cyclist!
My formal studies are broad, ranging from Physics and Environmental Sciences, to Art Theory and Literature, to Indigenous Australian Studies. Outside of this I'm interested in philosophy, local/social non-governmental politics & body politics generally.
I love to meet new people and hear their stories! I love to make people laugh and am a fun-loving, queer, active and creative person. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surfed through Europe and Scandinavia and had a blast! I would love to return the favor and contribute myself to this economy of kindheartedness by opening my door.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Whilst in Europe I was hosted by some of the most incredible people! I loved every new encounter and was really touched by the kindness extended to me on so so many occasions! My experiences of being welcomed into people's homes, people's lives and people's countries has been incredibly moving.
Interests
Oceans. Can't help it, 'ave always loved 'em
Mountains. These things are freakin wonderful!! for a kid who grew up in a hot, dry, flat, Australia, a big ol pointy rock will amaze me any day!
Art. love it like no other!
Music. love it as much as art.. =9
Creativity. Ya know those odd lil things that trip your trigger & make you spit out something incredible... in whatever form, it is something that I always come back to as a curiosity.
Cycling, Hiking & dancing ( and Skiing!! :D :D!) would have to be some of my favourite sports!! Though I love sailing, horse riding and running, too. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love good cinamatography and creative expression, though I am only just gettting into film.
Music... Definately some home growns like Angus and Julia Stone, Gotye, Claire Bowditch, Blue king Brown & Sal Kimber and the Rollin' wheel & Garreth Liddard. Then some of Cat Power, Death Cab for Cutie, Iron and WIne, Jose Gonzales, Missy Elliot, Beyonc, MJ, PJ & RRRRAidoheadd. Mix in some Van Morision, The Velvet Underground, Gorillas, the Clash and The Cure, Jazz it up & add spice of intense SKA and you've got cha-self a music smoothie!- I'm rather infatuated with sound in general really.
Oh! And the books!
Jeanette Winterson, V. Woolfe, Italio Calvino & Albert Camus are my fave authors. OH and ALSO! I have just read incredibly loud and extremely close and it was wonder-amazing!!! So that's an idea for you at least.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Restless ocean crashing against the cliffs beneath a lighthouse on the West coast of Victoria, Australia.
Having hiked 10k, we finally stopped for lunch by a river in Lapland in the Arctic Circle. However, I was too amazed by the stunning glacier adjacent, gently sitting between two snow capped peaks, and the 30 odd reindeer on the other bank (inc. a stag with AMAZING antlers!), to eat my lunch.
The Northern Territory of Australia in the dry season. Truly truly amazing. Those memories will stay in my soul forever.
Backpacking solo through the south of Ireland meeting an absolutely beautiful friend and being able to share that corner of the world with them. Also cycling around the Beara peninsula with a lovely Frenchman I met on the road was just awesome - truly magic!
After a week of high flying emotions and big, restless life questions, I found myself at a Saturday morning market in the north of Germany with two small children. From a haze, I scooped up the little boy, popped him on my hip and took to walking around the market. Having not eaten well for a while, I walked through the food stalls and the flower shops, picking out beautiful things to sample, see and smell as my senses were re-kindelled. The little boy, who has troubles eating due to a medical condition, was so peaceful as we went from stall to stall and as I began to buy little samples of food, seeing me eat, he would reach out and ask for some too. We ate together as we walked and I remembered my Grandmother in her last months: She would't eat unless one of her Grandchildren was eating with her, she said it didn't nourish her. Never before have I truly and so deeply understood what sustained her and her incredible life. Food has always meant a lot to me and the integrity of this deep sharing with this little boy completely warmed and overfilled my heart.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that some of the most profound teaching & learning is done sub-consciously: I'm open to everything new and old, and am willing to share what I've got :)
Things I can teach you directly include basic bike repairs/ how to ride a bike , how to speak English, German or French, how to cook a delish Veg, Vegan or Gluten Free meal, how to horse ride ( should we get the chance!!! wow! that would be awesome!!), how to love the ocean & how to surf (or Boogie board ;D!).
I would LOVE to learn some Spanish!! Or any other cool skill you feel like imparting :D
