ABOUT ME
Hola! Salut! Hi!
I am known by my Sindarin name, Emyn, and by my Christian name, Luke. It's a long story, I'd love to tell you personally. I fell in love with CouchSurfing because it was a major catalyst for my spiritual development. For two years I went on a WalkAbout through the Americas via bicycle and stayed with CouchSurfers along the way. I found humanity in a world that I thought had lost it. Since then I've had the opportunity to host other voyageurs in my home(s).
During your Bend adventure (what we call #Bending It), please note that I'm at the South end of Drake Park. (Downtownish by the river)
PHILOSOPHY
"If you feel like dying, you gotta do something to make you feel alive."
"Sometimes you have to take the long way around."
"Change is good. Change is progression is evolution. We must evolve or else we devolve."
"No one cares if you're pretty, if you've traveled the world, if you sing beautiful songs. They care about the feeling they get when you're alone with them, quiet and in the dark."
"Words should be spoken to add to the silence, not to detract from it."
"Karma's only a bitch if you are."
"Don't say 'rain rain go away', because that's what Saudi Arabia said and so Rain picked up her shit and was like, 'Fine bitch. But you gon' be missin' this ass.'"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love all my couchsurfing guests and hosts. They're like best friends who come to visit. I've met some people via CS who have genuinely touched my soul.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm cordial with CouchSurfers. You already skip a few steps to friend status when you're both on CouchSurfing. On my bike trips I've stayed with hosts from Patagonia to Québec to Hawaii.
So on my trips I would try to bring chocolate to every host. Try to do something. It doesn't even have to cost money - make a classic dinner that your parents would make. Get me a postcard of your hometown. Clean dishes. Rub my back and tell me I'm pretty :7
Interests
I studied psychology and have been fascinated with the mind-body connection. It's essentially the premise of my trade. I founded a psychosomatic therapy practice called Alpine Training (IG: AlpineTraining); I calibrate athletes to their sport with massage, stretching, and strengthening. I intend to open a studio with sensory deprivation tank and infrared sauna.
During the winter I mainly look at memes, lift religiously, and XC ski. During the summer I swim in the rivers (backstroke, freestyle, free-diving), practice martial arts, climb, trail run.

I've cyclotoured six countries and have hitchhiked three.
Also, one day I will try pistaccio butter so I'll put that on the list.
Have you ever tried it? I need to know.
Also, changing my name to Emyn. My heart flutters every time I hear my name.

I can teach the Queen's English, street Spanish from Chile and Argentina, how to get by in Brazil with limited Portuguese, how to get by with French in Quebéc.
I'm constantly learning about psychosomatic health, and would love to hear your two cents worth. I've got a Bachelor's degree in psychology (Eastern Washington University) and am a certified massage therapist (Sedona School of Massage). I would love to teach you about self-care.
