ABOUT ME
I am interested in life. I know how to have a good time doing anything including cleaning fish, digging ditches and cleaning the house. I am a great travel companion, I have incredibly good fortune and I meet the most interesting and fascinating people everywhere I go. I have one child of my own but claim 3 daughters and I have helped raise many others. I believe in the global village and that we are all related. I try to live in community and cooperation where ever I am. Collaboration is my current favorite ideal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like people. I believe in sharing generously whatever we have. I have always found that kindness comes back to me. I have only just made my profile public but the people in my community have been hosting couch surfers and activists for over 20 years. We were even featured in a book about a young couple's couchsurfing adventures through communities all over the world. Tell us your story.
Interests
There is very little I am not happy to do. At home I garden, I am a community organizer, a social and environmental activist and I enjoy my busy Relationship and Communication Coaching practice. People fascinate me.
I am in love with the natural world and I am dedicated to spending as much time as I can alone in the woods and with others who have similar values.
I am fascinated by people, really pretty much all of us are fascinating, even the ones most people don't enjoy. I want to know what you think and if we have time and rapport I want to understand what makes you come to your conclusions. I am also happy to share my own thoughts with you if you are interested.
I particularly like people who have the skill of debating without aggression and animosity and who listen for details. I like people who can separate opinion from facts and still hold both as valuable.
I love art and artistic people and I will seek out public and private displays of art wherever I am.
I love to be naked in my home and alone in nature, but frankly it has only occurred to me that I could announce that in a public place since looking through many of your profiles. Cheers to body freedom!
I strongly dislike a television that is always on and people who are unable to detach from their devices. I am just as easily distracted by these things as the next person, possibly more, but I know they are distractions and I don't often need a distraction, there is so much in life to do and to think and to talk about!
I like real, simple food, made from ingredients you can find in the local market or in the garden. I enjoy complicated food if someone who loves to create it will prepare it for me, especially if I can participate.
I want to meet people who care about the world we live in. Even if they care for reasons that I don't understand or that differ from the reasons I care. I want to know what moves you. I want to know what you care about and I love it when you can tell me about that, especially in a way that will make me care about what is important to you.

Music, Movies, and Books
yes to all of it. I love all kinds of music from all over the world. I want to learn to sing and play the guitar. I like to pretend I sing and play the drums and so far most of my friends humor me with this.
Recommended reading
"What we leave behind", " How much is too much?" and "Endgame" "Deep Green Resistance"
I like to read hard to digest books for fun. Most recent was Ka, Indian mythology retold...wow it was intense and I would read it again.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After never leaving the US except to visit border towns in Canada and Mexico, last year I went on a 6 month world tour with my youngest daughter. Starting in Amma's ashram in the south of India and ending in a work away job at a Tuscan villa with two spring fed pools in Italy. We were abducted by Tamil tuk tuk drivers for a thrilling end to our stay in Sri Lanka. She turned 17 on the Isle of Hydra and I turned 46 in Paris. My daughter was an exceptional travelling companion and I am so happy to have had the opportunity to spend this time with her.
So many fantastic experiences I can hardly process it all. Catch me in a talkative mood and I will tell you a few hair raising stories.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to cook or buy food to contribute while I am at your place. I can help in any way needed.
I have been practicing the basics of permaculture for about 25 years. I know a little about dryland farming and water catchment.
I can start seeds, plant a garden, weed, water, and harvest pretty much all common western foods and I can learn about any others
I can teach English as a second language
I can edit any English writing and I can help translate into conversational or common English dialect to help you get your point across in writing
I like to help, tell me what you need, If I can I will.
I have helped to raise many many many children. I started out as a nanny when I was very young, I have raised a daughter and a step daughter and a goddaughter and I have 5 other women of various ages who I am co parenting through this exciting complicated life
I have coached intentional communities and poly-amorous relationships
I have assisted people in creating amicable, even friendly divorces and separations and of course many many healthy partnerships including co parenting agreements
I am a relationship strategist
I know a lot about getting one's needs met, visioning your dreams and keeping track of how to have what you want and live in a sustainable reality that works for everyone involved
And I can talk and listen for hours about Maslow's hierarchy of needs,
evolving consciousness,
and the role of humans on this planet
