I‘m a short guy from Guatemala, currently studying environmental engineering in Germany.
I work in urban planning, so I'm always interested in seeing what other cities have to offer and learning about their history and how they became what they are today.
I grew up trilingual, switching between Spanish, German and English, so since I can't ever get enough, I'm always trying to learn a new language. Some times it works better than others. I'm supposedly good enough at the languages listed above to have a conversation though, so I'd really appreciate the practice.

Being completely honest, I landed here because I wanted to save money while travelling, but now I've barely stayed with hosts and love this site because it helps me connect with other travellers who are looking to live similar adventures to mine.
I enjoy doing things a local would do: eating local food, finding hidden corners in the places I visit, and partying like a local would.
I'd also like to help others find somewhere to stay or someone to hang out with if I have the time. Even if I don't or I'm out of town, I'll gladly help others search for a place or give some tips of what to visit in my city.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Teach: I like to talk to people about my country and my culture, since many don't even know where we are on the map. I hope I'm repping us well.

Learn: Even though I know it's impossible, I'd like to learn as much about other languages as possible. For years now I've been interested in linguistics, as any of my friends would tell you.

Share: I want to share cool experiences with likeminded people. I'm often travelling alone, and even though I'm alright with just myself as company, it's nice to have someone to laugh with on my trips.

I can definitely share a beer, preferably an IPA, or some coffee.
I'm also always up for taking some pictures. I have a professional camera, but I usually leave it at home when I'm travelling.
I got lots of dumb funny stories to tell, because my life is basically a comedy movie where everyone's laughing, but I'm the joke.
