About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see all the countries in the world.
ABOUT ME
I was born in 1961, female, married with 3 sons and simply love to see the world. I have travelled to a few countries and hankering to see the rest of those I have not step foot on. I love dancing and having coffee and cake with my friends. Spending time with my husband and sons is very precious to me. Travelling energises me and I love seeing new things in new places all the time.
PHILOSOPHY
We wear different hats in our lives but one must be true to oneself. For me, when I take time off from my family to travel alone, I can be just me - not a wife, a mother, a sister, etc. I truly believe that we must take time off to reconnect with ourselves. Knowing what makes me happy and not allowing other people's opinions to stop me from doing what I love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am so blessed to be accepted into homes of lovely hospitable caring people. My first couchsurfing experience was in Paris with Kelita and it was absolutely divine. My next one was in Lisbon with Henriqueta who welcomed me with warm open arms into her beautiful home. Then another wonderful stay in Geneva with Olivia who nursed my sick friend and extended her hospitality to her. I am thankful that these ladies who took me into their homes really took care of me.
Interests
I am interested to motivate older women to travel more on their own instead of following tours. Encouraging them to get out of their comfort zones and see more of the world. I am planning backpacking trips for young people from my country to broaden their mind and learn about different cultures and lifestyles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Accepting an invitation from a lady stranger in Oslo to stay over at the house and now she is my friend for life. Another event which happened on my birthday in 2016 and was on my bucket list for ages - tandem skydiving!! I did it in Wanaka, South Island of New Zealand on a brilliant sunny day. So awesome and wished I did not have to touch ground.
Teach, Learn, Share
Travelling has restores my faith in humanity. Many people from different countries had shown kindness to me and deeply touched me. Always look for the good in people. Not everyone is out to take advantage of us. I have on occasions wished to help out stranded travellers but to my astonishment, they rejected the monetary assistance. Sometime, others need a listening ear and a pair of shoulders to cry on. Be compassionate but also be very wise while dealing with people.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Definitely lots of travel stories as I have travelled to more than 80 countries. I have just started my travel blog and you can log in to know more about me at www.travelwithean.com. Cooking is definitely not my forte and it will be safer for my hosts not to eat my food. I am good with washing dishes though and more than happy to supply all the ingredients for the meal.
