I spent 2 months traveling around Eastern Europe in 2009, and had a great experience. everyone I stayed with was very welcoming.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

watching a lightening storm from a train heading from Pula, Croatia to Slovenia. I could just barely hear the thunder over the train's roar. it lasted for hours, and seemed as though the strikes were coming from all sides. each time we passed through a clearing, you could see the lightning illuminate the entire sky, or striking the ground miles (kilometers, technically) away.
