About Me

CURRENT GUEST PREFERENCES
Cyclists are especially welcome and will get the royal treatment they deserve :-)

CURRENT MISSION
Learning something new every day.

ABOUT ME
I get my kicks from traveling. My mission is to spend at least 10 percent of my lifetime traveling with a backpack. Thanks to the traveling gods I was able to do that for more than 4 years during the last 20 years, which makes me one of the luckiest earthlings on this planet :-)

PHILOSOPHY
Couchsurfing for me is like hitchhiking - it's not about (saved) money it's much more about who you meet today along the journey of live. People usually are not that interested in what great things I might have done in the past. What really counts is having a good time with each other. Since the here and now is often absorbing - there is much more to see than sights - I try not to rush around and therefore stay at a place to collect impressions until I won't forget the name of the place for the rest of my life. And yeah, there is always the "coming home part" which for me has been mostly smooth. If it had not been that way, I wouldn't have been away long enough...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I get asked, which is the best country you have been to, my aswer is always the same: Switzerland. Come and find it out and have a look at my hometown.
The time from May until September is particularly nice, since a lot can be done outside.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
If that saying would not have African origins I'd claim it for me: "Treat your guest like a guest for three days and put a shovel into his hands on the fourth day".
