About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Too be happy, explore the world and give back.... :)

ABOUT ME
Just finished a big chunk of my bucketlist, including exploring all the world's 198 countries.

PHILOSOPHY

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” -Mark Twain

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friends convinced me it's a very cool and nice experience, so I started last year and it was indeed amazing. Sometimes I've couch surfed, but often just met up with local cf members, who have showed me around, enlightened me with local culture and sometimes shared a few (too many) drinks... (",)

Interests

2nd generation Korean born in Iceland and living in Norway, with a passion for the environment and sustainable development, justice and challenging existing boundaries and mindsets. Very curious about new people, places and cultures and the biggest interests include travel, food, diving, fishing, wildlife and extreme sports. As a person I am rational, logical, extrovert and loves to analyze and solve challenges. Studied business and worked 12 years as a consultant within strategy and finance. I visit normally 15 to 20 countries a year to learn new cultures and mindset and cultivate my passions. Have visited all 198 countries and check of my bucket list

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Turned down a request for Casey Fenton April 2017 to borrow my "couch"... ha ha.. he's the founder and owner of Couchsurfing. To my defence, I left for Kuwait that day...
...but he has crashed in my place later... :)

Try to inspire people to pursue and not postpone their dreams, so every year me and some friends try to demonstrate how much you can actually can do in one single day: So we have set some world records, including visiting 19 countries in one day and 22 US States in 24 hours. Can read more about them on the net, i.e. Huffpost, Daily Mail, The Telegraph, BBC World, etc..

Apart from that I would mention other great experiences, like the sun rise at the top of Africa, Europe and South America (Kilimanjaro, Elbrus and Aconcagua), trek mountain gorillas in Rwanda, hand-feed 5 m tiger sharks off Fiji, catch and release 3 m blue marlin off Jamaica, explore Galapagos and Easter Island on boats, dive the Great Barrier Reef, experience the carnival in Rio, eat bats with the locals at the Seychelles, visit Doctor without boarders stations in DR Congo, many safaris in Africa and constantly broadening my horizon by the people I met, the places I see and the cultures I learn about....

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lousy company, bad jokes and an overdose of traveling tips... :)
