About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To create a great reality, to connect with conscious people, to experience everything that interests me...to help wherever I can.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty far out of the box. I've created a reality where I only work on things that interest me...currently that takes the form of sustainable living...building solar systems, housing made from reused materials, alternative transportation, planting gardens and hunting for meat, and helping others learn these skills. I also travel and play a lot. Very into surfing and sailing and having the most evolved relationships I can. Also build boats and surfboards and invent useful things. Learning guitar and ukulele and even croak out a few songs. I am currently recovering from a serious injury and have had to relearn how to walk and surf and live again and been working hard at this for almost 7 years and have recently had some great healing breakthroughs and I'm now excited for the next big thing.

PHILOSOPHY

We each create our reality by the things we focus our attention on. We may not choose each challenge that comes up in life, but we choose how to react to it, and we choose our attitude about things. I believe we live in a benevolent universe and that we can have whatever we want in life. The hardest part of that is figuring out what you want. Most people know what they don't want, but are hard pressed to say what they really do want. Once we know, the universe will conspire to make it so.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host as many people as I can and enjoy learning about other cultures, love to meet new folks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted here a bunch and had a lot of good feedback, I really enjoy travel and getting to understand different cultures and having visitors is like traveling vicariously. I've couchsurfed only once and thought it was great. This is such a cool way to really see a place from a locals view, and I happen to be a great adventure guide for my visitors. I love my home here in Hawaii and enjoy sharing the reasons why.

Interests

I'm interested in people and the challenge that is life. I love the ocean and all things related in, on, and around it...surfing, sailing, diving, etc. I guess you'd call me a waterman. Now I'm creating my fast cruising trimaran for sailing among the islands. I love getting close to wildlife. I am fascinated by the intricate wonder of our life-supporting, abundant planet and very much hope that the humans will re-learn how to co-exist with our home before it's too late.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm pretty amazed that I can hike up a mountain with a 40lb pack. Lay out my paraglider, kite it up and fly off the hillside, float out to find a bubble of warm lifting air and circle in that thermal all the way up to the clouds. Then fly around for hours and eventually go down and land next to the car, pack up and look up at the clouds in total amazement "Was I really just up there?...what would the Write Brothers think if they could see this?"
Recently I sailed a thousand miles south to Fanning Island and was like going back in time a thousand years.
Oh..and getting barreled in pumping Hawaiian surf...nothing like it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to share my enthusiasm for life. I could teach about building anything, Hawaiiana, sustainable living or even sailing or surfing. I would love to learn how to play guitar better. I would be happy to share a game of chess too ;)
