CURRENT MISSION

I define my current mission as to make this world at least a little bit better, so I do my best to help people and show my hospitality. By having an ability to talk to foreigners who come from so many countries I do not only show them Vladivostok sights but at the same time give them a wider look on insights of my country as I want the world to know those things about Russia that most of the people abroad have no chance to learn.

ABOUT ME

Born in Moscow, left for Vladivostok summer 2015. Currently studying for exams to do Master’s degree at the Far East Federal University, majoring Korean Studies. Working as an English tutor and a freelance translator.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Still not feeling being a local after two years of living here, and this is a reason why I am here – to socialize, find new friends, help people who travel to Russia and to practice languages. I hardly have any Russian friends here, so hanging out with foreign travelers is one of not so many ways to socialize while I am so far away from my hometown. Advantage for me and you is that I speak English quite fluently and have enough time to share my Vladivostok experience with everyone who wants to hang out with me.

兴趣

My two biggest passions are figure skating and literature. I have been a fan of figure skating for ten years, do skating as a hobby and follow all the events. Most of my free time I spend reading – both fiction and non-fiction. I also enjoy writing reviews on books I read.

Also I like learning new languages. This stage of my life I try to focus on Korean (my major) and English but also dream to learn Portuguese, Chinese and Japanese. Besides English and Korean I speak some French, lower-Intermediate level. Meeting Koreans who come to Vladivostok I motivate myself to practice my speaking skills.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I consider two amazing things I have ever done in my life be volunteering for 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics (not hard to be it was a figure skating event) and moving from Moscow to Vladivostok (two cities are about 8K km away from each other!).

I guess I can teach figure skating, Russian language and cooking Russian food. I also like deep conversations.
