Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

neither of us has used CouchSurfing for couch hookups but almost all of our travel involves crashing on someones couch - a friend, friend of a friend, relative of a friend or anyone who will host us. having stayed on many couches over the years, whenever possible, i extend the twig of hospitality to visitors to my city! i value local knowledge VERY HIGHLY and never underestimate the magic of experiencing a city alongside a resident who loves where they live and loves sharing this with others

Interests

her - music (dub step, old school hip hop, funk/soul, experimental electronic, avant garde sound stuff, drum'n'bass), riding the freedom machine (bicycle), social justice, environmental/conservation issues, finding a new bar to check out, independent arts, art openings (they generally have nice nibblies & drinks!)

He: low brow action films and 70's-80's horror films. Plastic model kits, comic books, in fact, all the same stuff that I liked when I was a kid

mostly electronic music - soft, hard and everything inbetween

movies: animations!! clever/thoughtful anime (spirited away, nausicaa, ninja scroll), cohen brothers (big lebowski, o brother where art thou, no country for old men, fargo), will anderson (rushmore, the life aquatic, the royal tenenbaums, bottle rocket, darjeeling limited)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

she: spent new years eve in a mosque in botswana celebrating Eid, later that morning i witnessed a goat being (religiously) sacrificed by the local holy man (who also happened to be my uncle) then spent the next 16 hours helping to cook (and eat!) at the longest BBQ i've ever been to in my life (we started at 11am and went through to 3am the next day)

he: had a Samoan tattoo done in the traditional fashion, with a sharpened boar's tusk
