ABOUT ME

I'm 26 years old, currently living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I got diagnosed with cancer almost 2 years ago while trying to complete my engineering degree. I decided that if I could beat cancer and complete my degree I would go after my dreams and live my life the way that I always wanted to. Well, I've been cancer-free for about a year, and I just completed my degree last week, so now I'm pursuing my life-long dream of backpacking through Europe!

PHILOSOPHY

After being diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, being told I was probably going to die, and then beating it, I've developed a unique view of life. You have to go out every day and push yourself, you should learn and have fun. I try and live without regret, and not wait to pursue my goals. I'm not trying to preach, I basically just try and enjoy life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a lot of friends that have met some really cool people through this site, I've always wanted to use it, but have never been able to offer a couch (I live with roommates) Hopefully next fall I can offer one, though.

Interests

I like talking with everyone I see, biking, climbing buildings, drinking coffee, drinking beer, skiing, traveling (obviously), building robots (yes, nerdy, I know), growing peppers, eating, science, sailing, getting lost.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was a kid, I saw the tree in my front yard get struck by lighting 3 different times. It finally died the last time it got struck. I think someone had something against that tree.

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I share? Well, I could tell you how electricity works. I can fix computers with relative ease. I can also cook terrible tasting food, if you want.
