About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to promote eatwithalocal.com and get it as well known as this site.

ABOUT ME

I am a widow. I have four children and eight grand children. I currently make a living from performing puppet shows in children's parties. I have an open house, I love visitors. I love to show people the beauty of the Welsh countryside and seaside.
I enjoy being a steward for Oxfam in the Glastonbury Festival it is hard work but very enjoyable. I volunteer every year and would recommend it to anyone.
I enjoy travelling and try to go with my daughter twice a year, once at Easter and once during the summer holiday, We usually home swap in the summer and we have met very friendly families through this way of holidaying. My website www.eatwithalocal.com connects travellers to local people willing to cook for them in their homes. I thoroughly enjoy cooking for guests and meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

Someone stayed with me once and took my money and jewellery. My brother seeing my dismay and distrust told me don't let that person blinker your way of looking at the world you were just unlucky put it behind you and go forward. I have learned to trust again and never looked back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have an middle room. I would host people there. I have had many people from abroad staying with me. I used to host French students for years and years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a family in Fiji. The woman cooked for me on one ring of her stove and cooked the best meals I have ever tasted in my life. She took me to her local school and the children were the best behaved children I have ever seen.
I ended up leaving half the clothes from my suitcase with her as the poverty in the village I stayed was very noticeable. But everyone had a smile on their faces.

Interests

My grandchildren. Metal detecting (though I haven't been for ages) Travelling. Eatwithalocal.com (my children have encouraged me in this as I have to be active) Reading, Travelling. Glastonbury Festival
