Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I work for an Irish charitable organisation, based in Mombasa,we believe sustainable development involves the development of people, our mission is to empower people with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to live a life of self reliance and self respect so that they can overcome the challenges faced within their society.
i am also the office administrator and the student advisor.
the students we sponsor come from a slum area called Kongowea this is a marginalised community and very poor background, most of the families here survive on £1 in a day and most of them have been affected by the poverty so i help them to cope and accept things that they cannot change. we find sponsors for them to sponsor the children by paying their fees so that they can go through Secondary School, college and into University.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i have not hosted any one before but my friend Alan and Alia have and so i am trying it out. as they have shared with me alot of experiences they have got from couch surfing and i felt that i should try it.

Music, Movies, and Books

i like listening to Gospel, R& B Music, and reggae, the movies i enjoyed watching are Avatar, Bounty Hunter, 40 year old Virgin, U,Me and Dupree and last Holiday.the books i enjoy reading are Become a better you and Enjoying Everyday by Joel Osteen.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At one time i travelled to Ireland, and i was with a friend and it was freezing cold and she took me to a Beach in Donegal, it was very cold but there were people surfing and swimming when i was on a hill i couldnt feel the cold but on reaching the bottom where there is the beach sand and everone else is, i felt like my face was coming out and this was because of the cold. i will never forget this experience in my life.
