About Me

Philosophy for Life

Happiness is a journey, Not a destination!

I am an adventurous person that has a loving heart. I was born and raised in Southern California, but I studied Sociology at a Historically Black Univeristy in New Orleans. While living in New Orleans, I discovered my passion for traveling and my interest in discovering the true heart of culture. I have traveled to several countries. Once I completed my international studies and graduated from my institution, I moved to Michigan to peruse a Master's Degree in Social Work.

I have a passion for animals (elephants and hummingbirds in particular) and children. I also enjoy cooking, dancing, singing, and crocheting. I am open minded and willing to embrace new experiences with adventurous people. Let's share some amazing experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because l feel that having an intimate experience with other people allows me to discover what this world has to offer. I enjoy seeking out knowledge, connecting with interesting people, and traveling with an exploratory lens. During my previous travel ventures I definitely felt a disconnect from the local residents; since the hotels were located outside the resident's communities. So, I decided that couchsurfing would nature better experiences, allot me the opportunity to meet new people, and create strong relationships that are mutually beneficial.

Interests

I feel that I enjoy life the most when I am interacting with nature. I am always excited to participant in any outdoor activity. Music is another major part of my life. I have learned throughout the course of my life to enjoy the multidimensionality and diverse types of music. Listening to music brings me immense joy, but singing and dancing allows me to interact with music in a special way. I am about to tell the story of life from my perspective. Music in my eyes represents joy, culture, history, and life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have done in my life was travel to Brazil and celebrate Black Appreciation Day. The sense of community and unity among the residents was empowering. The residents were extremely inclusive and welcoming, which allowed me to create strong lifetime relationships.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share many adventures, recipes for Soul Food, and small amount of wisdom I have acquired over the years. I can teach salsa dancing, cooking, and how to crotchet a pretty cool blanket.

I want to learn the intimate wonders of each city I travel to over the years. Acquire as much knowledge as possible and build great friendships.
