HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

used couchsurfing for the first time on a trip to switzerland. hoping to continue to travel & host when i can

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i used couchsurfing for the first time last year during a 10-day backpacking trip through europe. my friend emily and i stayed with a host in switzerland who brought us to the swiss alps, took us to an australian restaurant, introduced us to his cat, lent us books, cooked, and opened his home to us in a wonderfully compassionate way. the whole experience made me really fall in love w couchsurfing & feel very optimistic and excited about the possibilities of a network like this. i'd love to provide the type of environment stenli gave to emily & me to surfers myself someday.

books: john steinbeck, the beat writers, joyce carol oates, joan didion, tao lin, anais nin, ee cummings, the moomin series, etc. i am slowly but surely reading the classics and i've gotten very into poetry lately.

movies: good will hunting, pan's labyrinth, lion king 2, cloud (the pbs documentary about wild horses lol), amelie, into the wild, etc.

tv: game of thrones, veronica mars, twilight zone, chopped

there are many more that i've forgotten, i think. i love sharing favorite music/movies/books. would be very happy to do that if you are interested.
