Overview
About Me
We are a couple late 30s, with a white shepherd dog and a baby.
We welcome travelers from around the world who like the outdoors, can give us ideas for new adventures, and enjoy a delicious meal.
ABOUT ME
All of us know the expression "the curiosity killed the cat".
One down, eight to go. ;)
"ENFPs are warm, enthusiastic people, typically very bright and full of potential. They live in the world of possibilities, and can become very passionate and excited about things. Their enthusiasm lends them the ability to inspire and motivate others, more so than we see in other types. They can talk their way in or out of anything. They love life, seeing it as a special gift, and strive to make the most out of it."
PHILOSOPHY
Il faut toujours tester les limites du possible.
Pas pour s'arreter, mais pour tenter l'impossible dans les meilleures conditions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host, I'm surfing from time to time, I spread the concept and try to go to meetings!
CS is more of a cross-road, where we are welcome to ask for a bed, food, hot tea and life directions.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new in Couch-Surfing.
But old in Hitch-hiking.
CS must be like HH, with a Home instead of a Car.
Except you can really take your time and maybe make something more out of it! It could even become a ... "Way of Life"...
Did you know almost nobody reads host profiles!? Not-so-fun fact about Couchsurfing in big cities: we get literally flooded with requests from people who just aim to save the Hostel money. Please prove you are not one of them, and mention the word "Fitzy" in your Couch request.
Interests
I'm full of energy, but in a quite inconstant way. I can find time and enthusiasm for several activities in the same time, and there are many things I tried. Many more I didn't.
I love people-watching.
Seeing meaning where few do.
Asking questions.
Wild storms. With the post-rainbow.
Changing point of view.
I enjoy being outdoors, sleeping under the stars, the smell of fresh cut grass, the shiver of fresh water after a long hike.
Books. Fantasy movies. Tarot reading.
I'm passionate about languages. I'm fluent in 4, have the basics of other 3, I plan to learn German in the near future.
I'm an old stuff geek. Castles, ruins, chandeliers...
Tea lover. Ice cream lover. Cheese lover. Chocolate lover. Tartiflette lover. Mmm...
On the sports side, I tried skying, biking (VTT), swimming, snowboarding, skydiving, water diving, jogging, boxing, judo, cliff climbing, windsurfing, water-skying...
I love concerts and not bad in a pogo.
I practice wit, sarcasm, and mimicry.
I can make my own clothes, love to cook and I have true green hands.
Fancy sports cars, boats and motorbikes, engine sound is a lullaby.
To be continued...
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
"Fight Club" and "Forest Gump" are top favourites.
"White cat, black cat" is really my kind of optimism.
"Factotum" is new on the list.
The "young" me still likes the "X files" and "Star Trek"...
Music: eternal Pink Floyd fan...
even if I was born with the rock vibe,
80's music works sometimes.
classical jazz is music to my ears.
but silence tops it all...
Books: a short selection:
Hermann Hesse - Le loup des steppes
Terry Pratchett - most of his books...
Patrick Suskind - Das Parfum
Bernard Werber - L'encyclopedie du savoir relatif et absolu
Nichita Stanescu - so tough to make a pick...
Charles Bukowski - Tales of Ordinary Madness
Roberto Juarroz - Vertical poems
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been genuinely happy.
Teach, Learn, Share
"The fear of falling is nothing compared to the fear of never leaving the ground"
I've learned that as naturally as breathing.
It proved to be a difficult lesson to teach.
I'm still working on my "share".
