Overview
About Me
I (Evan) often travel with my partner Maryel. Though we are very different people, we balance each other well. In a nutshell, Evan is: brain, body, and earth, while Mary is: heart, mind, and water. We recently drove 40,000 km around the United States looking for our next home!
Both are:
World travelers, interested in different cultures
Animal lovers
Introverts at heart who love to spend hours reading
Nature enthusiasts who can spend days/weeks/months hiking
Aspiring world changers, living our values of authenticity, courage, integrity, and feminism
Genuine, authentic, and caring
Minimalist, frugal, resourceful
Fast learners
For us, travel is about existing outside of what we know. It is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect with fellow humans, and connect with ourselves in new ways. Travel inspires our vision of a more just and harmonious world. We do not party (but it's OK if you do). We sometimes drink alcohol and are happy to not drink if you prefer. We are flexible vegetarian eaters and always have our own food. We can’t wait to meet you on our journey!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Evan and Maryel travel frequently, and can host when we are home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Evan has surfed and met up with hosts all over the world. I have hosted travelers on the warm showers bike touring platform but have not gotten any requests on couch surfing. It has been a wonderful experience so far!!
Interests
Evan is an experiential educator who thrives being outside and exploring new ideas. Two of my favorite activities are learning and teaching! I have been a scuba, ultralight backpacking, and rock climbing instructor in the past. I am learning to cook and bake delicious treats and would enjoy sharing my new skills with you.
