Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed in Phoenix twice just before I moved there, and am hoping to get more involved after I randomly hosted a really cool couple from France who didn't want to spend the cash on a hotel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've crashed on many-a-couch and host-housed in many family's homes during high school with a unique travel program I was a part of. Everywhere from a huge home with a family of 5 or 6 in the burbs of Washington DC (ping-pong in the basement with the 14 year olds--I got schooled!) to an old elderly couple's farmhouse in the Vermont country-side where I had to wash the flies out of the sink each morning before brushing my teeth. I can sleep anywhere :-)

Interests

I LOVE the outdoors. I rock climb, backpack, camp, canoe, kayak, fish, snorkel (would like to get in to scuba diving), run, play soccer, paintball when I get a chance. I enjoy good books in peace and good movies with great company. I have a deep appreciation for craft brew, and would like to get into it more with time. Last, but not least, I love to meet new people. I consider myself a very open and engaging person, and odds are such that I would like to have a conversation with you :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitch hiked from the Detroit area to Boulder Colorado, and to summarize, I think it took me around 8 rides to get out there, and at least half of them completely blew me away with generosity, kindness, and deep genuine love for their fellow man. I've always tried to pay the love forward with people everywhere.
