About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I get asked this question a lot. I'm finishing up two years volunteering in Africa and going back to school. Beyond that ...
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small, sleepy beach town in Florida - it's a great place to be from although it seemed boring at the time. I moved around the states for awhile as a newspaper reporter before moving to Africa to do development work. Now that I am finished with that - and before going back to school - I am really excited about the idea of just drinking a good beer and leisurely walking around a new city. Instead of hitting the tourist sites I would rather get lost in a fun or pretty area (or just sitting in a pub, that sounds nice too).
So I'm looking for someone who can host me or just meet up. A place to stay would be nice, of course, but I understand if that's not doable. I don't know a soul in Dublin, or Ireland for that matter, and it's always fun to meet and hang out with cool people.
More about me ... I have it on other people's authority that I'm easygoing. I tend to like most people and I like to have fun and laugh as much as the next person. I'm not trying to be vague here, but sometimes I'm outgoing and sometimes I'm not. I am always tidy, but I'm not much of a cook (sorry - but I'll bring the wine and I always do the dishes).
I don't really know where I'm going next. I'm contemplating a move to Austin, Texas, but that is still up in the air. I plan to have a couch available wherever I'm at - and I'm making a concerted effort to move somewhere cool.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I ever get a couch, I'll be happy to let people stay on it. Please believe me on that. Right now though, I live in a mud hut with no running water, so my place really isn't up to par. If you're game and in the Casamance though, feel free to stop in.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Officially with couchsurfing.com? None. But I've woken up on the couches of some kind, well-meaning people in my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few days ago I saw 17 school girls having simultaneous seizures. They believe evil spirits are to blame. I believe it's psychological, but I'm keeping that to myself.
