About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reducing my ecological footprint

ABOUT ME

My 'occupations' above are a good start...but I also love to travel, meet people from diverse places and backgrounds. I am a voracious reader. I make sculpture, draw and enjoy the company of others of all ages. I have been on an amazing life journey for the past two years after a cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery I have a whole new respect and love of life.

PHILOSOPHY

This life is such an awesome opportunity--focus on the positive, don't deny the negative, but don't give it any energy--just work to counterbalance or tip the scales the other way. Positive, loving thoughts and acts are powerful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had a great time couch surfing in NYC and in Spain (stayed with a friend on her couch in Paris)last summer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I would love to host surfers in Tucson--it has many charms--music, art, fantastic hiking, good food--even good cheap food. I live right downtown and I would love to show fellow travelers around, give architectural tours, cook dinner, but sorry no just a camp pad/sheets/blankets.

Interests

Architecture, art, learning about all sorts of things, how to reduce my ecological footprint and still be able to travel. I bought carbon offsets for my flight to Spain (via Air France) couldn't find a way to sail across the Atlantic!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: "Blessed Unrest" about the largest movement in human history (and why nobody saw it coming) is the combination of groups working for social justice, groups addressing global warming and groups intent on saving native species and cultures. Movies: so many, but mostly smart comedies, although Indies and low budget can't be beat (recent favorites: Once, I'm Not There, Darjeeling Limited, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Across the Universe) Music: new and old Wilco, Calexico, Green Day, Beatles, Hendrix, Joplin, blues, classical, some jazz

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. beat cancer. 2. traveled across Austrialia from south to north...

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about architecture, art (and their histories and theories) and I have an avid interest in anthropology, archaeology, global warming, politics (and social justice)
