CURRENT MISSION
Slowing down
ABOUT ME
Berlin, Jakarta, London... now it's enough for a while living in Megacities. Currently I am slowing down my live, have gone back to my roots and starting to close a circle. Having lived in quite a few places means that I am now free to make my peace with settling down for a while in the village where I was born, before - alas - a new chapter of life begs to be written. I am an environmentalist by profession and by passion. Married with a lovely partner from another part of the world and passionately interested in to be a genuine world citizen.
PHILOSOPHY
Wow... keep things simple for a start. We humans are faced with far too much complexity around and within us and constantly make the mistake to think we know how things work. We don't. Don`t underestimate the value of practical philosophy such as: Don't trust any bankers! And: The rent is damn too high! (Thumbs up, Jimmy)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have heard a lot about CS and decided to make a move to try and find out for myself how CS works. Will start to use CS initially as a surfer, but later will also become a host (once I am fully settled).

Music, Movies, and Books
Nada Brahma - The World is Sound. I am influenced by Joachim-Ernst Behrendt and his pladoyer to listen more to our inner voice. Otherwise Jazz, World Music, Rock, Classic .. you name it, as long as it strikes a cord with my soul. Same with books: I love literature which cherishes both brain and heart: Conrad, Lao-tse, Bulgakov, Heinlein, Chargaff, Pramoedya Arnanta Toer, Multatuli... Films: Documentaries and anything non-hollywood!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Winterstorm on Arran islands - mindboggling
Climbing volcano's - always amazing and never dull
A trip in a rainforest (or any forest) - full of miracles
Watching the sky and the clouds - never boring
Seing the beauty in all of us - always exciting
Having a good conversation - time to relax and enjoy
Teach, Learn, Share
Ghandi said: 1 ounce of practise is more worth than 10 ounces of theory. Right he was! I am not sure whether I am a good teacher, but I am pretty sure there is always something we can learn together! And from each other... As I mentioned above, my passion for knowledge (more: understanding) is fairly broad.
