About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel & Adventures!

ABOUT ME

Recently relocated to Shanghai after nearly four years in Singapore. Last year my husband and I adopted two adorable dachshunds... I'm somewhat dog obsessed now!

PHILOSOPHY

"let the beauty of what you love, be what you do"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Looking forward to meeting up with fellow Couch Surfers in Asia and anywhere else.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some great people in Singapore through CS, as well as hosted a few, and looking forward to meeting more fellow CSers!

Interests

My interests have evolved over the years. When I first joined CS I wrote here: "my biggest interests at the moment are: travel, bagpiping and hiking or other outdoor activities."

While I still love bagpiping and hiking, I must admit I don't do much of either of those activities. Travel, however, is still at the top of my list of interests. Now I spend a lot of free time with my dachshunds and of course my husband. And when I have time I like to squeeze in reading, perhaps a bit of knitting, yoga or other exercise and now, exploring Shanghai.
Cooking is a hobby I completely abandoned when I moved to Singapore, but I've been getting back into it and enjoying healthy and delicious home cooked meals again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Seinfeld! And too many good books to list. Just read "Shantaram" and really liked it. I've been reading through a lot of Haruki Murakami lately, too, but Shantaram sparked a renewed interst in books by Indian authors so I've been reading a lot of Salman Rushdie, Amitav Ghosh, Arundhati Roy, etc!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching people to knit, to speak Spanish (I used to be a Spanish teacher), to bake, and to mountain bike. Also, if anyone out there wants to learn, I could try to teach you to play the bagpipes. As far as things that I'd like to learn, lately I've been interested in Scottish or Irish dancing, but I'm open to learning all kinds of new things! The next thing I'd like to learn is to speak Mandarin! I've started taking classes but progress is slow...
