About Me

CURRENT MISSION

World peace through rock and roll.

ABOUT ME

I am the single most unique person you will ever meet and yet everything about me will be familiar and comfortable. I meld the logical and scientific with the emotional and artistic. I have 1 cat. I play guitar. I am an engineer. I like to travel. I love music. I read. I barhop. I watch movies. I will try most things once, usually twice. I am bored right now and would like to meet you. I am now done typing.

PHILOSOPHY

Nothing too deep really. I mainly try to be a positive person and live my life in a way that improves the lives of those around me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just took a look at my profile and the description that was in here was total newbie. I think I have graduated to active participant at this point. I still haven't surfed anywhere but I have hosted 3 times now and I have attended several of the local events. I will definitely be doing plenty more hosting this year and I might even try to assist with the site in some capacity. Stay tuned...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While in Australia 10 years ago I ended up couch surfing with a few different folk I met while out on the town. I was floored by how trusting the people were that I met and it made for an amazing time. It was the first trip I had ever taken where I really felt like I got to know the people and place that I was in from the inside out. I am so glad technology has given us great resources like the CS site to facilitate this type of travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving on the Great Barrier Reef and seeing a sea turtle (my favorite aquatic animal) on my last dive was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an excellent guitar player and would be glad to share this skill with anyone interested in learning.

As an engineer I specialize in virtualization and lately grid computing in the application delivery space. Do acronyms like SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS have meaning to you? If so we are likely doing similar work.

I want to learn more about synthesis and to that end I have been trying to teach myself piano since the keyboard is the most efficient way to interact with synths. I am also interested in learning how to play the banjo and Mandolin.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Mexico, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
