About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Suffering is not enough. Life is exuberant. I want to help people connect with their own beauty...for selfish reasons.
ABOUT ME
I change my mind. I used to just want to do this about me in person with CSers, but in the spirit of Atticus Finch's motto of stepping in another's shoes, I submit to CS the following:
I started writing where I've been and cut and paste that into couchsurfing experience. So about me. I'm sensitive. I'm social. I'm fun. I'm quiet at times. I'm pensive. I'm more carefree than I used to be. I'm recently converted from discursive thinking as an approach to problem solving and am now much more trusting of my intuition...a hard thing to do for someone very math oriented. I'm a listener. I'm lots of things. I love more than anything the process of sharing my experiences because it invariably opens the people I interact with in ways that is non other than miraculous. We all have miracles inside our being and sadly many of us don't know it. I love facilitating such beauty if given the opportunity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Until recently, haven't been, so that's going to change soon. I registered as a CSer in Chicago but never hosted anybody, but to be fair, I didn't trust it yet. I think I sparsely got emails from people but the two times that I remember it didn't work out because I was away from Chicago at the time....more details than you wanted.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After growing up on Long Island, NY, I spent 3 of my 4 college years across the Charles River from Boston (the other year was spent in England), the next 6 months I spent in NY, and Boston hanging out (read couchsurfing) before I left for the Dominican Republic for two years and three months. Next I went to Chicago for two years. Since my departure in June, I've been back to DR a month, back in NY a month, northern Colorado meditation retreat center volunteering for 4 months, grad school in Northampton MA, three years going on four as a therapist with Latinos in Seattle.
