About Me

Hello! In January I left my job working in London - to take what I'll hope will be a trip of a lifetime, travelling solo round the world by motorbike.

I've been hooked on the idea of seeing as many different cultures and countries by motorbike as possible since I did my first two-week trip going around Europe in 2012. Just over two years later, and I'm hitting the road on a whole new level - and I'd like to meet you as part of it!

I'm pretty laid back person, who's equally at ease trying and seeing new things and experiences as I'm having a quiet few beers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting people, hearing their stories, their lives and their countries, is pretty much the best part of travelling.

Staying in hotels is pretty rubbish for doing that, hostels are obviously a better bet, but Couchsurfing seems to be even better to me!

Interests

Aside from an obvious passion for travel, other things that float my boat are....

- Seeing and trying new things, activities & experiences
- Socialising, meeting new people, hearing about them, what they do and what they're interested in
- History, politics, seeing and trying to understand how the world works and why it works that way
- Photography
- Writing/blogging
- Hiking and trekking

Back in the UK, I'm a keen cyclist and a former rower, having spent the better part of my 20's training for and competing at the famous Henley Royal Regatta.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friends would (hopefully) describe me as a fun, sociable person with an all-round love of conversation.

For me this trip is not just about understanding new cultures and countries, but seeing how they fit-in with the world around them - I hope that my experiences to date will make me a fun and interesting guest.
