About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make it in life, to see the world and to eat lots.
ABOUT ME
My name is Ed, and I'm a 21 year old Exchange student living and studying in Japan.
I've lived here for around 5 months now, so I know the local area pretty well.
When I'm not studying, I spend a large amount of my time socialising at bars etc. I find this helps me to always meet new people, and is a great way to practice my Japanese.
PHILOSOPHY
That's karma for you.
Life is a waste of time and time is a waste of life so get wasted all the time and have the time of your life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't really used CS much, I've had one guest in the UK, but that's all. However, I'm eager to get more into it soon!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Despite being on CS for several years, I've only ever hosted one person, and never been hosted. I'm eager to change that!
Interests
My other hobbies and interests would have to be food and drink for starters. I've been brought up in an environment with very good food cooked at home, and with the opportunity to go to many amazing restaurants both in England and abroad. So wherever I go in the world, you can be sure I'll have to try the local cuisine.
I taught myself to play acoustic and electric guitar, and I've been playing for about 2 years now. Not sure how I'm going to survive without my guitar while I'm travelling. Maybe I'll take one with me and play you a tune if we meet :).
Quite a common interest is of course music, but everyone has their own tastes. Personally, my roots are in rock and metal. You just can't beat those heavy riffs or rip-roaring solos. More recently however I've branched out much more into other areas, such as acoustic, folk and spanish. And above all I love the blues. I'm always in the mood for a bit of BB King, Lightnin' Hopkins or Gordon Smith.
And finally I'd say travelling. I want to see all the world, and I've got so far to go. But nothing is better than seeing you places, meeting you people and experiencing new cultures.
That's all I can think of right now, but if you have any questions you want to ask me, feel free to send me a message.

Music, Movies, and Books
Action, comedy and martial arts movies. Samurai, fantasy and action novels for books. Rock and metal all the way for musical taste, throw in some Blues and I'm a happy bunny.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My most favourite place that I've been (so far) is a little ice cream shop in Brookyln, right next to the bridge. You can see all the Manhattan skyline from there, and on a clear night its absolutely spectacular.
Teach, Learn, Share
As I said above, I play guitar, so I could teach you a bit of that if you'd like.
I love learning languages, even just a few words or phrases.
I want to learn to live free.
