About Me

Hi! I’m Eda — a storyteller originally from Istanbul, the city where stories are born and where East meets West. 💫
I’ve been living in London for about seven years now, and it still feels like a city that never runs out of voices — different accents, backgrounds and lives crossing paths every single day 🇬🇧

Stories are not just my passion; they’re my work and my way of being in the world. I run my own storytelling company, where I help people, entrepreneurs, institutions and brands discover and tell their stories — the kind that feel real, human and memorable.

I love collecting myths, folktales and stories from different cultures. Every now and then, I bring them together in Storytelling Nights. Strangers come, stories flow, and for a few hours everyone feels a little more connected 🌍

In a previous life (or maybe the same one 😄), I hosted a few TV shows, sharing the personal and brand stories of entrepreneurs and business owners. Different formats, same curiosity: who are you really, and how did you get here?

After TV, I naturally drifted into creating videos for social media and YouTube. These days I enjoy being both in front of and behind the camera — crafting stories, editing videos.

I believe we are all connected — like islands in the sea, separate on the surface, but deeply connected underneath… by stories.

If you enjoy long conversations, cultural exchange, and the feeling that the world is bigger — and somehow closer — at the same time, we’ll probably get along just fine 🙂

Once upon a time…
our paths might cross.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I truly love Couchsurfing, because for me it’s one of the most unique ways to connect with different cultures. It’s not just about a place to stay — it’s about sharing stories, perspectives, everyday moments, and leaving with new questions and new stories.

As mythologist Joseph Campbell said,
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”
I’m always curious about new caves, new questions and new encounters 🧚🏻‍♀️

Interests

philosophy, psychology, storytelling, social entrepreneurship, futurism, coaching, peer education, theatre, improvisation, creative writing, dancing

Stories in all their forms — personal stories, myths, folktales, city stories, overheard conversations on buses, and the kind of stories people tell when they finally feel comfortable.

Cultural exchange, long walks in cities, getting lost on purpose, meaningful conversations, philosophy, mythology, art, creative writing, and how stories shape who we are.

I’m interested in people who are curious about the world, ask good questions, and don’t mind conversations that jump from deep to playful in five minutes flat.

Tea over coffee (but I can negotiate), travelling without rushing, and moments that feel small but stay with you for a long time.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music 🎶
I love music that tells a story and carries a sense of place.
From world music and folk sounds to indie, jazz and alternative tunes, my taste shifts with my mood.
If a song makes me walk slower or think deeper, it’s already a favourite.

Books 📚
I read stories that sit somewhere between mythology, philosophy and psychology.
I enjoy books that ask good questions rather than giving easy answers.

Movies 🎬
I love films that make you think, feel, and go on an inner journey.
Stories about self-discovery, personal growth, and the joy of seeking — like Eat Pray Love — always catch my heart.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share storytelling tips, myths, and ways to bring personal or brand stories to life.
I’d love to learn about your culture, local stories, and creative projects you care about.
I enjoy exchanging ideas, having long conversations, and discovering small moments that leave a big impact.
Sharing meals, walks, laughs, and stories always makes travel feel richer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories — myths, folktales, personal adventures, and the little everyday tales that make life interesting.
I enjoy cooking or sharing meals, long conversations, laughs, and spontaneous city explorations.
I can offer a curious ear, good questions, and maybe a story or two you didn’t expect.
Mostly, I bring an open mind, a playful spirit, and the kind of energy that turns ordinary moments into memorable ones.
