Latinamerican writers & realism - Arturo Perez Reverte novels and the first one by Carlos Ruiz Zafon - La Sombra del viento. (high school in Mexico didn't expose me to much English language literature but looking forward to recommendations..) Saramago's work, contemporary science-philosophy-sociocultural editions - (dunno where this classification comes from so I'll add my own examples & pls feel free to share your recommendations of books that you'd fit in this category..): the secret lives of overachievers, the no asshole rule, Skin: a natural history, survival of the sickest..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

not amazing but def. fun...as a frustrated marine biologist landed a gig fishing for lobster & abalone for a month...beach life at its best
