About Me

Hello, I am Eda, a Turkish scenographer, artist and art mediator creating visual, sensory and verbal sceneries and narratives in a performative manner. I live in Germany for last 3 years.

I am quite a caring and sensitive person towards people around me and to my surroundings. I am a good listener and very observant person in general.

I like researching about collectivity, performance, social art practices, storytelling and walking. I am writing my master thesis at the moment about performances in public spaces with a focus on walking and storytelling.

I like walking, just strolling around the city or going for walks in nature. Recently I am reading books about philosophy of walking, wanderlust and different perspective and practices on walking.

I enjoy dancing even though I don't have any training, I like listening to the rhythm and improvising.

I feel the need to spend time by myself sometimes to reflect on my emotions and thoughts and reflect on my experiences but always love a good conversation about life. maybe with tea ;) or some other drinks :)

I always carry a small notebook with me and write about my thoughts and explore myself and keep record of my experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the idea of sharing a brief moment in our lives with strangers and share different perspectives and create a support system somehow by sharing our couch or time or stories.

I enjoy travelling and getting to know people and different cultures and learning about different life experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in music is very wide so I don't have a specific genre but often feel the mood for Turkish songs from 90's or 2000's and dance a little.

I recently read about walking a lot :)

The last film I very much enjoyed was an anime called The Whisper of the Heart, it is very calm and settled film about finding yourself.

My favourite film is from a Greek director, Eternity and a Day. I love the scenes, and the dialogs and the music of this movie, captures life in a very poetic way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Organizing an art and second hand market in Dortmund for the earthquake victims in the beginning of this year and bringing people together to contribute to some people's lives at least a tiny little bit.
