ABOUT ME

I am a toolmaker by trade (dies and moulds) I am currently on about my 6th career change (retired) I have lived in NZ longer than the UK and I live on the eastern fringe of the wild west of Auckland.

PHILOSOPHY

I lead a quiet life. I have some involvement in the neighbourhood.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting is best for me. It means I can travel without traveling. I would also like to attend any gatherings in the Auckland area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a friend of a friend staying here for a short time. She introduced me to CouchSurfing. Since January 2012 I have hosted a number of Couchsurfers it has been an enjoyable experience. Couchsurfers is a great organisation for meeting and enjoying the company of friends I have not met yet.

Interests

I live in a old house therefor there is always something needing to be done. Its the same with the garden therefore I am kept gainfully employed around the place. I like distance walking. I walk regularly. I go to the theatre if there is anything good on.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like some Jazz, John Denver, Big bands I am reteaching myself to play the piano my goal is to play some Boogie before Christmas 2012.Reading: Westerns, Old Navel stories. and Spiritual matter to keep me on course. I am currently reading with great interest Healing Gaia by James Lovelock I like what he says in fact. I have been on his wavelegth for many years without knowing of him.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, a few years ago I trained for a 24hr walk round the Isle of Man. A distance of 138k the most I did in NZ in 12hrs was 70k. I folded at 90k. When the day came on the IOM the weather was atrocious sadly I managed 50k although many did not get that far.

Like I said I am relearning the piano. I am considered a good listener. I am interested in the Gaia theory.
