Overview
About Me
We're an engaged, queer (both non-binary) couple in a relationship since about four years. We've met on a juggling festival around 2010, but we've been in a true gay hell for a while before we finally started dating. Both intersectional feminists, both travellers, both cat lovers (we actually have three of them!).
We're quite experienced in low-budget backpacking (several big hitchhiking trips across Europe and further on).
We used to have separate Couchsurfing accounts before, but due to our name changes (the perks of being trans), we decided to start from scratch with a new, joined account.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To make friends, share many stories, discover new cultures and perspectives.
Normally we tend to sleep in a tent whilst traveling, but it gets a bit problematic when we want to stay in a bigger town. That's when we're usually looking for a host to accommodate us and show their city from their own point of view!
Interests
Both:
science of all sorts (Hugo is more into biology, Eddie prefers Maths and physics), books (reading as well as collecting), calligraphy, photography, juggling, LGBTQ+ and social issues, but we love music and good films, too.
Eddie:
I enjoy Maths and also books, but I don’t like pancakes (and secretly despise nutella). I could probably call myself a person of many hobbies as I'm trying not to limit myself and always look for new interests I might develop. I love art galleries, museums, theaters and operas.
I drink lots of tea and I love The Iliad (but better don't talk to me about it, 'cause it always makes me cry).
Hugo:
I'm a pancake addict and Eddie knows nothing about life. We do share the love for tea though, but I'm the one who usually makes it ;)
I'm a contact juggler (I'm busking around Europe while traveling), I also like drumming a lot, but had to leave my drumkit behind while moving out some time ago. Looking forward to getting a snare drum again. I'm very much into tailoring and I make handcrafted freestyle bow ties. I can sew you a size-tailored one if you stay around long enough! I wish to be a tailor or a barber in the future, we will see though.

Music, Movies, and Books
Eddie:
I have way too many favourite artists, directors and writers to be able to properly list them.
I love classical music, but I also often listen to post-hardcore, jazz, blues and folk. My newest favourite band is Morphine, but it might change any time.
When it comes to films, I really like Bergman, Jarmusch, Herzog, Ghobadi, Arnold, Kubrick, Greenaway, Fricke, Kurosawa, Kieslowski and many many more!
I also have a sad obsession with Pete Doherty (just let the boy be happy for once!).
Hugo:
I share most of musical preferences with Eddie, but tend to listen to more alternative, rock and indie music.
Two of my favourite bands are Pink Floyd and Radiohead.
Eddie has taught me that watching films can actually be an amazing experience, but I haven't developed any specific likes yet. I enjoy watching anything they choose :)
I'm a bit less of a bookworm than they are, but still, I love reading.
I loved the Crime and Punishment, Atonement, The Song of Achilles and many more, but my memory is too awful to list them all.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived being queer in Poland, including homelessness, moments of poverty, and loosing both family and friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hugo will be glad to teach anyone contact juggling basics or how to make a tiny pig out of balloons.
We're always happy to learn new languages and listen to your stories!
