Overview
About Me
I'm a Korean American, raised mostly in the suburbs of NYC. I've lived my entire adult life in NYC, but have traveled a lot whenever I've had a chance. I was recently an art director for an advertising agency in NYC, but have recently resigned from my job and taking some time for myself to travel and explore the world. I love meeting people, trying everything to eat, exploring architecture, and seeing new things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a beginner with Couchsurfing, but as I start these longer trips on my own, I would love to meet people who are local to the areas I am traveling to. For me this is less about saving money and more about meeting cool local people.
Music, Movies, and Books
I've been collecting vinyl records for most of my life and love music of every kind. I'm a huge fan of Depeche Mode, New Order, Max Ritcher, Sigur Ros, ambient and jazz music.
I've been reading too much on geopolitics. William Gibson, Murakami, Ishiguro, AM Homes, Michael Lewis, Easton Ellis.
Bladerunner, Breakfast Club, Heat, the first three Star Wars, Magnolia.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled to North Korea during a time when their government was being very aggressive. My plans were set, and despite the news, I still decided to go. It was an amazing, eye-opening experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to share my travel stories, insights into life in NYC. Conversation and good company!
