COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My son and I have hosted several people in our home. Now in Oregon, I am eager to get involved on my own.

Interests

My main passion is photography. I have worked as a wedding photographer, but now that I am retired I really get to take the pictures I want to take. When I am not taking pictures, I enjoy reading, watching movies, and going to classical concerts. Any time spent with friends is a joy. I love to go fishing, take nature drives, and spending time in the outdoors. Some of the greatest experiences I have ever had, however, have been traveling abroad with my son.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading John Updike, Philip Roth, John Cheever, John Steinbeck. Recently I have gotten very into the Irish mystery writer Ken Bruen. I usually spend my reading time swinging back and forth between classics and light novels.

My main musical interests are in classical music, but I like it all, from Willie Nelson to Beethoven to Van Morrison to Japanese drumming.

Some favorite movies are CRASH, LOST IN TRANSLATION, SIDEWAYS, FARGO, CITIZEN KANE, THE GODFATHER, and a slew of foreign films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Renting a car with my son in Florence and driving for two weeks throughout the Italian countryside. Just got back from a similar trip though Eastern Europe.
