ABOUT ME

I am 31 from London UK. I originally came to Salvador in February to play percusiion in the Carnival with a Samba Reggae band from the UK and then to teach English. I am now teaching English in Rio de Janeiro and hope to stay in Brazil as long as possible, and hopefully see more of the country

I think you have to make the most of the opportunities given to you but you must also make opportunities for yourself. Be a nice person and people will be nice to you, most of the time. Have faith in life and be positive. Have fun and enjoy the time you have

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never couch surfed myself but may do in the future when I travel more around Brazil. I think I would host in the future but probably in the UK. So far I have met some nice people though Couch Surfing

Interests

My main interest is in Music. I play guitar, compose music, Play Jembe and Timbau (samba reggae). I compose Reggae, Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, and anything in between and record with other artists / vocalists. I also DJ Reggae/Dub and Drum and Bass music. I study some Kung Fu and and Tai Chi and have been learning Capoeira in Salvador. I am also interested in Religions and philosophies both eastern and western.

Music, Movies, and Books

Like various films, Blues Brothers, Seven Samourai, lots of Kung Fu films, City of God, Japanese animation, anything of quality. Favourite music is Reggae, Old Hip Hop, Blues, Drum and Bass, Soul, Coldplay, Oasis. Like Bob Dylan, Neil young and general 60´s stuff, James Brown. Favourite book the Tao Te Ching, Books on chinese philosophy, Historical books, books on music, autoibiographies, Isac Asimov books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been inside the pyramids at Giza in Egypt. Played in Salvador Carnival with a smaba reggae band in Pelourinho.
