ABOUT ME

For a very long time my life was defined my the fact that I was a member of small business America. I lived and breathed work and in doing so I let it consume every second of the past fifteen years. One day I woke up and realized that we've one go round on the fantastic ball of dirt and it shouldn't be wasted working countless hours to acquire worthless things. So I quit.

I've spent the past few months reacquainting myself with the local mountains and music festivals and just living on the cheap. Every day I'm learning that there is no reason to rush through this journey. My goal (in good time) is to take up my hang glider and start flying again, as that is my passion. Then eventually, west. My soul craves deep canyons and wide open spaces punctuated with amazing people along the way. Perhaps in finding this site another piece of the puzzle has simply popped in place.

I'm new here so at the moment I'm simply watching and listening. Eventually I'll be hitting the road. Perhaps someday I'll have a couch of my own to share!

nada, nil, zero...but I hope to change that in the near future.

Interests

First and foremost I love hang gliding! Be it Outer banks, Ellenville, Lookout Mountain, POTM or Owens Valley, every waking thought I have is consumed with the sky. I'm also a lover of a good home brew, music festivals, trails, vast lonely places and like minded people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a big movie goer but I do love a few of the old Hollywood flicks. My musical taste is all over the map! One minute I'll be lost in Mozart's Requiem, the next completely enraptured with the likes of Ray LaMontagne, the Dead, the Radz, or Phish! What resides in my book bag ranges from theology to Stephen King & Thoreau. If it is out there to be read I will give it a try!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the morning the sun will rise and I will be there to witness it. When evening comes and the sun rests on the western horizon, I'll be there too. This, for now, is enough.
