ABOUT ME

I live in a small house in a beautiful mountain town in Oregon. I'm a retired software developer and now spend lots of time exploring outdoors, preferably in remote locations. I especially like finding birds and wildflowers and great views.

Ashland is internationally known for it's Shakespeare Festival which includes 3 theaters with both classical and modern plays. If you're interested in theater you'd love it here. http://www.osfashland.org/

There's also great access to outdoor adventures including the Pacific Crest Trail.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am out of town a lot and prefer last minute requests (within a few days of your visit or even the same day is fine). Self directed travelers work best, though if I have time I enjoy sharing a meal or a walk with guests. I have lots of knowledge about hiking in the area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had dozens of couchsurfing experiences, both as a hostess and a guest and each time am astonished by the depth it adds to travel. Everyone I have met has been fascinating and I look forward to many more surfing and hosting experiences.

My favorite activity is hiking or backpacking in the wilderness with lots of detours and dawdling to appreciate and identify wildflowers, birds and spectacular views.

I also enjoy cycling, skiing, swimming, art, music, theater, food, travel, exploring new places and meeting interesting people.

I love all kinds of music! Jazz, blues, bluegrass, jambands, rock, funk, folk, classical and yes, even hip hop and country. I listen to lots of live music within walking distance of my house and look for special venues when I travel. I also live just a few blocks from lots of theaters and restaurants.
