Hey! I'm Eden. I've been traveling the US since June 2018, and I've stayed in NC, IL, HI, OR, and CA so far. I left school in 2017 because it wasn't making sense for me anymore, and I wanted a new route after staying in Atlanta my whole life until that point. I am a visual artist, and I love to paint, draw, collage, take photographs, and I'm learning to embroider and work with textiles more as well. I'm a vegetarian and I love to cook big, yummy, healthy veggie dishes that feed a bunch. I practice yoga (not as much as I'd like to..) and I like doing anything that gets me moving. I love hikes with large elevation gains and a view that's worth it all at the end. I walk dogs for Wag in the cities I visit, and I used to be a bartender (still will likely go back to that at some point here, lol). I'm very into astrology, and I don't care whether you are or not, but I will definitely try and convert you ;) I'm a Pisces sun with a Sagittarius moon and Gemini ascendant. If you don't know what that means... Ask me!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

So far in my travels I have mostly used Workaway to find work/stay exchanges on farms and stuff like that. My most recent WA host turned me onto CS, but I haven't used it yet! I'm new! Go easy on me! When I got to the west coast from Hawaii, I bought a car in SW Oregon, and I plan to keep driving it south through California. I've been on an off-grid farm Workaway in the mountains of Mendocino County, and I'm moving on next to the Bay Area. I'm gonna be attending some shows that are part of the Noise Pop festival in SF & Oakland.. Catch me at Men I Trust, Sugar Candy Mountain, Jerry Paper, & Crumb! I'm looking for accommodation during the festival, and I'll have tons of free time during the day to explore and meet people and do whatever!!
I've met so many amazing people while traveling, but it has been a lot harder than I ever expected to do that. Is it socially acceptable to ask cool looking cashiers at whatever my local co-op is if they wanna be friends? I can never bring myself to.. I hope CS will bring me closer to some likeminded folks while I'm in new places!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2018 I spent 2.5 months on Maui, HI, hiking, dancing, exploring, chopping coconuts & sugar cane with a machete, making smoothies, eating fruit right off the tree, turtle spotting, swimming in waterfalls, swimming in streams, swimming in the ocean, hitchhiking Hana Highway, working on a farm, working in a hostel, learning to surf, and making friends with people from Paris, Hungary, the UK, New Zealand, Russia, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, all over the US, and even becoming best pals with a girl who grew up 20 minutes from me in Atlanta, yet we didn't meet until we were on an island in the middle of the Pacific! It was the most incredible time of my life so far, and my eyes were opened every day to new levels of beauty I never even thought possible.
