Hello! Some information about me, I’m originally from the USA but currently live in China as an English Teacher. While I’m living in Asia I’m trying to travel to as many nearby countries and areas in China as possible. I love to meet people while I travel, and I hope to become a host in the future, though probably not until next year since I live with roommates currently. I’m slowly learning Spanish and Chinese, though my Chinese is very poor. I am still working on making full sentences, but I hope to improve soon! I like exploring new areas and I am ok with exploring on my own, but I also think it can be more fun to experience things with others. I look forward to meeting new people and learning about different cultures and backgrounds!

Because of my work I can only travel for a few days at a time (typically on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, which are my days off). This can make it hard to hang out with people during my travels, since those are usually days that people have work.
If you are able to hang out during the day then great! I’d be happy to spend time together! If you are working (which I assume will be true for most people), I am also ok with just getting dinner together or hanging out during the evenings. Or we can not hang out. Thats also fine.
I think it is important to share this since I am new to couchsurfing and I dont have any references yet. I love meeting people and making new friends, so I hope I can continue to do so!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im couchsurfing to learn more about people around the world, and make friendships with people I would never meet otherwise. I think this is the greatest gift to traveling!

I like most genres of movies, it just depends on what I’m in the mood for!
I’m a big fan of fantasy, such as the Percy Jackson Series, Harry Potter, Eragon, and Twilight. I also enjoyed reading books like Animal Farm, 1985, Lord of the Flies, The Giver, and most of the other ones I was required to read in high school.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved abroad as soon as I graduated from college, and now Im traveling the world (a little bit at a time) while working. Its not necessarily what I did thats amazing, but more that I set my mind on a goal and never gave up! Hard work, dedication and perseverance. THATS whats amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English in Shanghai, and I’d love to learn and practice my Spanish and Chinese. We can also share travel stories, compare cultures and backgrounds, and discuss things that are important to us or that we are curious about. I love hearing about what people are passionate about, and I would love to know what goals you have in life!
