Recently moved to Italy and am slowly starting to learn my third language, although it’s difficult 🫣

I haven’t really used Couchsurfing since before the pandemic but am really looking forward to getting back into it, as I had such amazing experiences with it!

I absolutely love Couchsurfing. I am still in contact with many people that hosted me and people I hosted. Everytime I’ve used Couchsurfing, I’ve just had the most amazing time. Being able to get to know new people and have them show me their city - nothing beats it!

-To make new friends; It's crazy how it's easier to just meet up with random new people and make friends in a foreign country than it is to make new friends in your hometown!

-To see the side of places that aren't easily discoverable for 'tourists'.

Is it just me whose mind goes blank when asked what their favourite of something is?

Movies: Such a variety of things.

- I have a huge soft spot for movies such as Grease, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Foot Loose and Flashdance from when I was a kid.

-Tarantino movies; Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill (1 and 2), Reservoir Dogs, Django Unchained (His movie soundtracks are brilliant.)

- Green Street, Serendipity, Sleepers, The Notebook, The Butterfly Effect. I remember these because I've watched them several times but there any many more movies I like that I can't remember.

Books:
It really depends on my mood. Ill read anything, as long as it is well written.
The Goldfinch, Pride and Prejudice, Clockwork Orange, The Outsiders, Americanah. I recently read 'The Signature Of All Things' by Elizabeth Gilbert and it was fantastic. The first book I have read in ages that left me thinking long after I had finished it. I wish all books did that.

Music:
- Seeed, Dub Pistols, Katie Melua, Norah Jones, Sandi Thom, Jack Johnson, Paolo Nutini, The Beatles, Nirvana, Hozier, Sam Smith, Eminem, Mika, Outkast, Die Antwoord, John Lennon annnnd I listen to quite a bit of techno and house nowadays.

- Travelled around Europe a little bit for 6 weeks with my Mum when I was 8 years old 🌍

- Completed the Tough Mudder 👊

- Moved from Ireland to Germany at the age of 20. And actually somehow managing to do the adult life thing 🙈

I'm always happy to help anyone who wants to improve their English. Although from my experience of hearing people say 'My English isn't that good', it really never is as bad as you think. ;)

I love to learn anything new really so whatever you have to offer!

If you speak a language other than English or German, I'd love to learn a few choice phrases from your language! In exchange, I can teach you a little Irish 🍀 (I'm not actually fluent - just a little bit I remember from having learnt it in school!)
