I'm pretty much someone who tries to get involved with as much as possible, learn new things and try to expand my horizons. I'm fairly outgoing, and enjoy soaking up the atmosphere of wherever i'm visiting - whether that's immersing myself in city culture, clubbing 'til the early hours, or enjoying a cup of tea in front of a rustic fire before bed

Interests

A big film fan, with interests in theatre and reading too (I'm a literature student!). Also enjoy learning languages and exploring different cultures and surroundings, especially European ones. I also play the cello, dabble (very badly!) on the piano, plus I play tennis and football - and follow them both. I'm also editor of my uni arts magazine, and hope perhaps to go into writing or journalism in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: big on European cinema - French New Wave, German Expressionism, and especially Fellini, Kieslowski, Almodovar. Also into Terence Malick, Hitchcock, Ang Lee, Peter Weir, Woody Allen (when he's good). Mind you, if it's good i'm sure i'll like it.

Books: Modernists, Camus, Kafka, William Golding, Salinger, Henry James, plus (if they count) for playwrights it'll be Checkov, Brecht, O'Neill, Stephen Sondheim.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Matterhorn for the first time, catching the Eiffel Tower flashing from a Parisian rooftop, the hot chocolate in a tiny Cumbrian cafe while hiking during a rainstorm in the Lake District.
