Hi! I'm Edgar.

I'm 32 years old and I live in sunny Portugal with my wonderful wife in the center of Lisbon. I was born in Montreal, Canada, and moved over here (Portugal) with my parents when I was around 8 years old. I've got family in both Montreal and Toronto, from my fathers side, and the rest is in Portugal.

I'm a Game developer and I run an independent videogame studio called "Space Pajamas" (yes, it's quite a silly name) with 4 other friends. I do Game Design (which is to say, I transform ideas into an actual game structure/system), I do environment art and UI Design, and I also manage all of the business side of things.

Recently I got a certificate that let's me teach at professional schools, or at a work place, which I plan to use to teach Game Design to kids who want to learn what it's all about. :)

Besides creating videogames, I'm an amateur musician, amateur magician (I'm quite rusty now, it's been some time since I've done any card tricks) and I like to practice pixel art on my free time. My academic background is in Architecture, and I've also studied illustration.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I sometimes have to travel to go to international Game Developer events, and other gaming events in general, as a Game Developer. When I do, I like to use the opportunity to meet new people and get to know the city/town that I'm visiting as much as possible. Couch surfing enables me to visit a place in a way that almost resembles like living somewhere as a local, instead of simply traveling like a tourist.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

"Super Nanny Sleepytime" (a game I created) won a few competitions and was seen by millions of people on Youtube! :D

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I can teach about Game Design and Architecture, and talk for hours about physics and other science stuff (not an actual physicist, mind you :P).

I'm always eager to learn more about... well, everything!
