About Me

Hi Guys,

My name is Edgar, but everyone calls me Eddie really. I was born in Berlin and grew up there but my Mum loved to move around so I got to live in many other countries. When I was studying I started to travel and my biggest journey to Australia completely changed my mindset about traveling and how important it is in our life to experience new things, cultures, people, nature and food. I am currently living at my girlfriends place in Seoul, Korea and study guitar as much as possible while being a teacher aside :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have met many people while traveling that recommended couchsurfing for many reasons. Of course is the economical factor important but not only that: you can meet interesting people that have interesting stories, they often can give an inside look of how things go that otherwise would pass you unnoticed if you stayed in a commercial place.

Interests

I love to play the guitar, learn different languages and I love to read philosophic books or rather books from the field of philosophy. I try to see a more profound sense in life than just a 40 hours working week with constant exhaustion compensated by unnecessary consumption of stuff you do not really need only to make you feel better. I try to be as pure and honest as possible although our modern society sometimes doesn't appreciate it .

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read books from the penguin series, I love George Orwell and other classy authors. I read Schopenhauer and Kant, and other books alike. Although they are hard to understand you get so much wisdom back of it it's worth your time. I am currently reading a modern Novel, which is entertaining, but like watching TV it's only for relaxation- which is good sometimes, but don't get "something back" - I don't try to make a deal but sometimes you have to nurture not just your soul but your brain with good stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled through whole of Vietnam on a motorbike with my girlfriend and my guitar! It was awesome.
