About Me

Hello all my name is Edgar, I have been lucky enough to travel to around 35 countries and to meet and stay with awesome people in most of them. I still want to learn and experience more from other people and their cultures. I plan to continue to travel the world and try the local cuisines and yummy drinks. Please feed me history, your knowledge (brains) and tricks and tips, language and some awesome once in a lifetime spots. Want to know more, just ask, I am an open book.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For a couple reasons I guess. For one my family thinks I am crazy for wanting to travel the world alone. I want to show others how easily and accessible traveling the world is. Personally, I find myself being more active and social when meeting others with similar interests, also hanging out and traveling with them. I tend to be quite reserved, quiet and anti-social so this is a way for me to be more free but to also push myself. So I am looking to hopefully meet up with people while traveling, socialize, learn new things (about food, yum, culture, language and thought processes). I am just a curious fellow who wants to explore and adventure.

Interests

Anything to do with other people's minds, their history and their thought processes.
Much more... I will update once I remember and I am. Not at work!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to visit South Africa during a uni class/trip and I loved it. I got to study about apartheid, and analyze pre and post apartheid South Africa then I got to visit the country. Cape Town, Johannesburg, Stallenbosch, Kruger national park, Pretoria and some beautiful landmarks. I can't wait and go back and explore what I missed.

I got to travel throughout Europe and Southeast Asia for about 7 months in 2016. It was an awesome experience, and it would not have been possible without the help of couch-surfers who let me stay at their places. I saved money, met great personalities, learned a lot and got to continue to travel longer and longer because of them. I honestly do not know how I made it out there by myself with such little funds, I didn't know I had it in me. I guess backpacking and exploring the world can really change you and your perspective. Only bad thing is that once you start you don't want to stop and once you stop, all you can think about is when you can start again! Hopefully I can start my travels again next year and plan it out a bit more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn some more languages.
I took 3 years of French in high school and remember very little.
Please teach me history from your point of view (your education and personal opinions)
Let's play video games!
Let's read manga and watch anime.
Let's explore, show me where all the cool spots are.
Introduce me to good food, I will try and learn to make it myself.
