About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find some meaning in all this noise

ABOUT ME

I'm an arts student with my eye on teaching. But first, I have a lot of traveling to do! I really love to talk politics, movies and comedy. I'm very interested in history - if I had to pick a favourite historical topic it'd be the fall of the Roman Republic.

PHILOSOPHY

The golden rule is an oldie but a goodie. I'm not religious, but that's a philosophy I can get behind.

"And I have felt
A presence that disturbs me with the joy
Of elevated thoughts; a sense sublime
Of something far more deeply interfused"
- Wordsworth, Tintern Abbey

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surf, hope to host in future!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed twice and had a blast! I can't wait to surf more.

Interests

I enjoy travel more than anything else. I can talk about movies and TV endlessly as well as books. I like hiking but I never get around to it (this is something I plan to work on!) I'm a big fan of comics - Bill Hicks, Dave Cross, Louis CK, George Carlin, Patton Oswalt are my favourites.

Music, Movies, and Books

MOVIES: Aliens, Das Boot, The Dark Knight, anything by the Coen brothers, Tarantino. "New Hollywood" films, ie 1960s-70s. The Graduate, Bonnie & Clyde, Easy Rider.
MUSIC: I have a Radiohead tattoo. Also on constant rotation: Bob Dylan, Kinks, The Beatles, Eminem
BOOKS: The Great Gatsby, The Gap, Lolita, all Hunter S. Thompson, Vernon God Little. I like history books a lot. The last book to wow me was War by Gwynne Dyer. Fascinating.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen a major bushfire. They get pretty huge in Australia...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play the guitar and piano pretty well! I'm great at cooking a small range of dishes but I'm always trying to learn more.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
