About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to foster in our young people a desire to see the world, experience and be sensitive to other cultures and try new things.

ABOUT ME

I love travelling and have the perfect job to enable myself to regularly get out and see new places. I'm a people person...I love meeting new people and I really enjoy passing on the travel bug to my pupils in school. I've travelled a lot, and lived in other countries, the longest of which was 5 years in Japan from 1999-2004. I met my partner while I was working there and brought him back to live in Scotland. Living abroad has made me appreciate more the beautiful countryside we have in Scotland and I consider myself very lucky to live in a city as fabulous as Edinburgh.

PHILOSOPHY

abair ach beagan, is abair gu math e!
(say but little, and say it well! - Gaelic proverb)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love finding out about and discovering other cultures and I enjoy sharing my city and culture with others too. I'm new to Couch-surfing, but whenever I go on holiday, I want to talk to local people and try to understand and appreciate a bit more about life in the country that I'm visiting. I always try and learn a bit of the language of the country that I'm going to...it's only polite!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Newbie to couch surfing I'm afraid but have had home-stay experiences in Japan, Mongolia, Russia, Cuba as well as staying with friends in Australia, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Spain, Poland.
We've also welcomed guests to our home from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Italy...
