About Me

I taught 6- to 12-year-old children in Hungary for 13 years – mostly literature, grammar and drawing, and during the last 4 years of my career as a teacher, worked as the headmistress of a small national primary school. The most uplifting feelings and the greatest sense of achievement came from having created an atmosphere of trust, honesty and friendship amongst children, parents and teachers. At the same time, I was disillusioned with the public education system that operated within extremely strict boundaries and financial restrictions, so I started looking for opportunities to start something new. Since I was a child, I had been dreaming of traveling to different countries, and learning about their cultures and natural wonders. In addition to loving long walks in nature and admiring architectural marvels, I have always taken a keen interest in the behavior of people, their customs and interactions.
I moved to England in the summer of 2013. Not having spoken a word of English, I found work in a completely foreign environment, a care home for adults with profound disabilities. It did not take very long to start liking the people I cared for; within a few weeks we were already wrestling on the ground, competing with each other on who can make the other one laugh more.
Not too long ago, tormenting questions started to pop into my head, and have by now become an intensive presence in my life: “what is the purpose of life?”, and “where is my place in this world?” I started to feel a sense of curiosity in connection with something elusive and incomprehensible. One day, while listening to music, I accidentally stumbled upon the band “Calle 13”, and have been longing to go to South America ever since. I hope, and believe, that my upcoming six-month trip to South America will allow me to learn new things while working in different and previously unknown areas, and to become part of other people’s passions, while at the same time discovering my own.
